These are the basics of ketchup. For this recipe, we also recommend adding a quarter to an eighth of a teaspoon of ground mustard, clove, and allspice. Change these measurements based on how you like your ketchup.
Step 1 – Cover the dates in a bowl filled with hot water and let them stand for 15 minutes.
Step 2 – Take the dates and blend them with all other ingredients.
Step 3 – You should puree the ingredients until they’re smooth. This should take around three minutes.
Step 4 – Leave them to simmer on medium-low for a half hour.
Step 5 – The ketchup should now be left to cool at room temperature. Make sure it’s in an airtight container. You can store it in the fridge for two weeks or freeze it for up to six months, depending on how much you make.
And there you have it. Have you tried making your own homemade ketchup before?
